We lose people learning to read URLs if we hide them. This is like hiding the paths that got us where we are.

It is not quite the same, because I didn't "have" to learn. It was just natural for me to learn given that it was displayed every time. This would cause that now instead of having 10 future power users, we will get 7 in the future.
